NFC North week 16 run down

Chicago Bears: 10-4, the 2010 NFC North champions (Clinched division with win @ Minnesota)
vs New York Jets (10-4, 2nd in AFC East)

Greenbay Packers: 8-6, vs the New York Giants ( 9-5, 2nd in NFC East)

Minnesota Vikings: 5-9, Vs the Philidelphia Eagles(10-4, first in the NFC East)

Detroit Lions: 4-10, Vs the Miami Dolhpins( 7-7, 3rd in AFC East)

Giants @ Packers
Huge game on both sides of the ball. If these teams have any hopes of making the post season they have to win this game. Packers coming off that tough loss in New England with back up quarterback Matt Flynn as the starter. He played well, and almost led the Packers to a victory. On the other hand the Giants suffered a very bad loss last week from the hands of Mike Vick and the Eagles. Up 21 with 7 minutes to go the Eagles storm back to tie the game, and on a last second miracle Desean Jackson takes back the punt for a 38-31 victory.
That leaves us here, two teams fighting for a chance at the post season. The status on Aaron Rodgers is that he will most likely play this week against the Giants, even with his two concussions this season. With Aaron back this team has its star back under center which gives the Packers a chance to win this football game. Packers have been plagued by injuries this year. One of the biggest ones was runnung Back Ryan Grant, who brought balance to this Packers offense. Packers who have virtually had no running game all season face up against one of the best penetrating defense's in the league. Aaron with have to throw for at least 250 yds, with a couple of touchdowns to have a shot at winning this game.
Giants don't have many problems really with injuries, a few WR are injured but really no others. The Gants were embarrased last week. Giving up a huge 21 point lead to the division rival Eagles. This Giants team wants another shot at the Eagles, they want to get back to the post season. To get back there Eli is going to have to play his best game, and get the ball out quick. Playing one of the best defenive teams in the league, and sack leader Clay Mathews. Justin Tuck, and that D-line will have to play at their best as well.

Prediction: 31-20 Giants, Giants will get into the post season with a win at Lambeau. Eli will play well enough for this team to win the game, and the defense will do the rest. Let's just hope they don't have to punt the ball.

Vikings @ Eagles:
Huge game for the Bears sake, with a Eagles loss, and a Bears win we could clinch the #2 seed. Too bad that won't happen.

Vikings come off two very embarrasing losses to the Bears, and Giants and will now have to face the red hot Eagles on a national level. Joe Webb is schelduled to start this week, but with Brett Favre on the side line you never know. No word on Adrian Peterson as of yet, but lets hope will be healty enough to play. No AP, no Brett this team has no chance. Especially when the defense has been playing the way it has. Giving up over 200 rushing yds to the Giants, and 40 pts to the Bears, who supposedly have a struggling offense.
Eagles on the other hand, have everything to play for, a chance to secure the NFC East, and a #2 in the playoffs. With the little motivation the Vikings will have vs the Eagles battling for a good seed, I see the Eagles taking this one easily.

Prediction: 34-14 Eagles.

Lions @ Dolhpins:
Another meaningless game in the month of December, but this game will be fun for Lions fans. A chance to get their 5th win, and maybe not finish last in the NFC North for a change. Lions playing the 7-7 Dolphins, who can literally not get a win at home to save their lives.
Lions coming off a win over two winning teams the Packers, and Bucs. Got to feel good about yourself, Drew Stanton playing well, the defense playing well. A lot to like about this Lions team. A team that you can no longer look past. This game is all about pride for the Lions.
Dolphins had a shot at the playoffs, and it was blown last week against the Bills. Dolphins once again will finish withan around .500 record for the third consecutive year, and will miss the post season. To them, after a loss like last weeks game, has no meaning to them. Maybe to coach Soprano who has his job on the line after the season ends, but for the players nothing for them to lose.

Prediction: 24-20 Lions get third straight win.
